Well here I want end to talk about the differences between Clem from "the walking dead", and Ellie from "the last of us".

First of all I want to say that there will be no neutral stand on this discussion and even though I like both games. This is soulfully for the characters and why I think clementine triumphs over Ellie from the last of us.

I'll start by posting what they have in common

Clem and Ellie both:
- are born into an Apocalypse. One maybe later than the other.
- are in the same age range 10-15
- are both taught to kill at some point.
- are raised by a mentor/friend/father figure
- are both are taught to shoot by said mentor/ father figure.
- are capable of standing ones own ground.
- are helpful to main protagonist.
- are they both lose loved one and are conflicted between killing them.
- are somewhat street smart.
Now here are the differences.
Clem...:
Clementine is pretty much protected throughout the entirety of season one but she is clearly maturing at a faster rate (prime examples: how she is compared to how duck acts during the second episode...duck is somewhat completely oblivious to the walking corpses)
Clementine is a very naive character that still wants to believe that at some point the world will most likely go back to how it used to even though the type of zombies she's up against will constantly show even when not bitten.(quote episode 2 Ben says you turn.doesn't matter how you go.)
This is literally a disturbing thing because there is no getting it under control...their world is over.
Clem represents the stride of humans and the good of humanity even when hope seems completely lost just like Lee Everett.
This is the biggest thing that works my nerve when people bring it up.
The difference between the way they fight...
Clem unlike Ellie or Joel, doesn't have lucky breaks and unlike ellie and Joel Clem has to keep the peace and bring people together. Ellie is immune to bites from the zombies so there isn't much reason for her to be afraid of contact. And unlike Ellie she isn't a hero, she is as human as anyone else is an she is younger too.
Clem may have lost a bit of her naive side but I ask you this.
What's the point in trying to bring the world back when people can't get along it's not worth living if we lose sight of what we're fighting for and that's to keep humanity...if we don't we're no better than the walking dead.

Now ellie:

She is from a way different place that showed the true emotion of humanity when when people believe the world is over unlike Lee Joel and the other lived for 20 plus years because of how things fell out. Ellie is more savage when it comes to protecting because there isn't much to lose if she is bite so what? And she keeps on going. Ellie was taught to keep to herself because ultimately its way keeps you alive nut without Joel she and him would have bite the dust as soon as the journey started if not for each other buddying up with what said about trusting others. Ellie is more action then words unlike Clem. Ellie doesn't really have the skill to convince someone or completely level with someone and does have the heart to forgive or come clean the two(Ellie and Joel) don't represent the last of humanity they represent what it turned into and this is why if this wasn't a fairytale like story with a twisted end it would have fallen apart a long time ago...at least here if they do manage to kill them all, the world can go back to normal.

Clem is what I can honestly call a good person, and what's to hold on to what everyone lost.
Ellie is more like if there was any hope it died along with her innocence.

Clementine may be on the path of selfdestruction but again we have to ask yourself if trying to live in a world were the only people that can change it are killing each other is it really worth saving?
